We create space structures that challenge the boundaries of creativity and functionality.
Space structures, also known as three-dimensional or tridilosa structures, are architectural systems that use curved, flexible, and thin surfaces to create innovative shapes and spaces. They are characterized by their ability to cover large areas with minimal material, making them ideal for a variety of architectural and engineering applications.
At Lanik, we take pride in offering unique architectural solutions that push the boundaries of convention and shape the urban landscape of tomorrow. Our team of engineers and designers is dedicated to creating space structures that represent the pinnacle of architectural design. From organic forms to futuristic geometries, our structures are a bold expression of innovation and contemporary aesthetics.
We stay at the forefront of technology in the construction industry. Using state-of-the-art 3D modeling tools and proprietary advanced structural analysis software, we design and optimize every detail of our structures. This allows us to ensure maximum efficiency and performance in every project.
Our space structures are designed to adapt to a variety of applications and environments. Whether for commercial, residential, or public projects, we offer solutions that combine functionality and style in a unique and versatile way.
Features
Space structures offer architectural solutions with distinct qualities compared to other types of structures:
- High hyperelasticity, enabling: ease in positioning support points, assembly and disassembly sequences, and excellent performance in the face of fire or seismic activity.
- Lightweight, compared to other types of structures.
- Capability for large spans, allowing for significant distances between supports.
- Aesthetic appeal, derived from the use of cylindrical tubes, spheres, and the surfaces they create.
- Excellent transportability, as all components are easily stackable.
This type of structure is suitable for both small ornamental canopies due to their aesthetic value and large-span installations for their load-bearing capacity. At Lanik, we have designed and manufactured structures for a wide range of uses: sports venues, commercial spaces, airport terminals, aviation hangars, curtain walls, and industrial pavilions.
Manufacturing and Assembly
We have our own production plant for Space Structures in Asteasu (Guipúzcoa), where the components are manufactured. Using a proprietary CAM system, we link the design process to production. The machining of spherical nodes, tube cutting, and welding of bars are performed on high-precision CNC machines controlled by an integrated computer system.
This integrated design and manufacturing process enables the construction of geometrically complex structures, minimizing the risk of human error and ensuring total reliability in the production process.
We also have our own assembly team, taking full responsibility for the installation of the Space Structures we manufacture. We offer comprehensive solutions encompassing all phases, including assembly documentation, plans, and material lists, which are digitally generated by the same computers used to design the structures.
To ensure the correct development of this process, we thoroughly analyze all assembly situations where a structural element could be subjected to critical conditions. We perform calculations and verifications for both individual components and the complete structure.
Our Systems
As a cutting-edge structural engineering firm, we have developed two proprietary technologies for space structure projects:
